Review of My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask

Review of My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask

It was a Saturday evening after my swim lessons, when my daughter lent me a wacky pair of sunglasses to wear. She took a snapshot of me. Looking at the picture, you can see from the circled area that my skin is extremely dry. All those fine lines on my face and beneath my eyes were showing. You can also see the fine lines under my eyes even when I had the sunglasses on.

Lines beneath my eyes and on my cheeks due to dryness

Therefore, I decided to do a home facial. I first used the Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Facial Scrub to remove dead skin. After rinsing off the scrub with warm water, as a toner, I used the Mild By Nature Witch Hazel (Rose Petals). After applying the toner, I put on the My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask.

My Beauty Diary Squalene Masks – Each box comes with 8 pieces

I bought four boxes of the masks online from Watsons. It is retailing at just a little over USD 12 for a box of eight. My Beauty Diary is a Taiwanese brand and they have about four or five different types of sheet masks. I chose their squalene masks because squalene has antioxidant properties to hydrate and get oxygen to the skin. Squalene forms part of the skin’s defence against UV rays, dryness, and heat, making it a great moisturizer.

Squalene has a molecular structure that is similar so our skin’s sebum. The small particle size allows it to be absorbed into the skin without leaving any greasy residue.

Ingredients in My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask

I also chose this product because it also comes with a Product Safety Guarantee. There are no added paraben preservatives, alcohol, mineral oils, coloring or fluorescent agents. I also like the fact that the squalene is extracted from olives, a natural ingredient.

My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask Unboxed

I did not have to first put the mask into the fridge before using it. You can see from the picture just how moist the mask is. After putting the mask on my face, there was still plenty of moisturizing mask lotion in the pack for me to apply all over my neck, chest and limbs to moisturize my body.

The mask felt cool and relaxing even when I hadn’t put it in the fridge beforehand. What a great way to relax after a tough and hectic week!

After about forty minutes, I removed the mask and voila! The lines under my eyes and on my cheeks couldn’t really be seen anymore. My skin did not feel greasy.

After Using My Beauty Diary Squalene Mask – the fine lines under my eyes and cheeks are far less obvious. My skin is well hydrated.

The Squalene Restorative Hydrating mask works well because it also acts as a serum. It preps the skin before allowing the squalene to penetrate the skin. After this, the mask also enables the moisture to be sealed for long lasting effect.

Product Safety Guarantee and Triple Action of My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask

As I teach swimming four days a week, I will use this mask twice to three times a week as it works and is cost effective. It is also very easy to use, ideal for busy folks like me who can’t find time to go for facials or spend more than fifteen minutes prepping their skin before putting on the mask.

Compared to the Pure Natural Ginseng Mask Sheet, the My Beauty Diary Squalene sheet mask has a thicker texture and covers the face better. My skin also felt more moisturized.

I personally like My Beauty Diary Squalene mask more. It may cost a little more. But since I have matured skin and I am constantly exposed to the sun and chlorinated swimming pool water, I would need a richer product. I feel that this mask suits me more. I am happy to have found another great but cost-effective product for my skin.
